City Girl 2000 - #34 + World Cup Manicure for our Socceroos

Today I have another City Girl 2000 for you.

#34 is a sheer gold which went on a whole lot easier than it's #19 cousin.

The above is three coats.  I suspect if I had added a couple more I just might have gotten it to opaque.  All up a total winner, albeit I suspect it's a tad too warm for my colouring.

Now for my Socceroos manicure....

As you all know, I'm from Australia.  More than that, I'm from Melbourne where soccer's popularity  is... well, let's just say it's somewhere behind Australian Rules Football but more popular than a root canal.  I'm sure that, if we were any good at soccer, like, say Brazil, it would be a whole lot more popular.

But even I, a staunch Collingwood Magpie fan, am getting a little exciting about Australia's upcoming match against Ghana.  So I teamed up this lacquer with yesterday's China Glaze Kiwi Cool-Ada and the results are.... well check it out after the jump.

Glitter Gal - Deep Green

First off, muchos congratulations to Kerry and Anna from Glitter Gal.  Their eyebrow and lip pencils were recently featured in a Pixiwoo video!  Deserved kudos for a great Aussie brand.

Anyway, Kerry and Anna were kind enough to send me their Deep Green holo and, seriously, ladies, love does not begin to cover it.

Diffused Light

Flash

But wait! There's more!

As many of you know, I swatch in diffused light for a number of reasons.  But mainly because the only time I can get to swatch is on the weekend and, working full-time, I'd rather spend my daylight time with the boys.  So I swatch at night when the sun is well and truly gone.

But the past weekend, I actually got a couple of hours and so..... after the jump we have this most magnificant lacquer in beautiful bright sunlight.  Set your faces to awe and put your sunglasses on!

Glitter Gal - Fuchsia

Fuchsia is the final holo I'm trialling from Glitter Gal, a super Aussie lacquer company.

Like the others I have tried, this is truly an exceptional colour. It glides on smoothly, only takes two coats to become opaque and is shiny, shiny, shiny!

How beautiful is this?! Out of all the colours I've tried, I believe this is the colour that suits me the best. It's gloriously girly, sparkly and just makes me think of summer nights and cute boys..... ;-)

My only quibble with this was the wear. For whatever reason, this didn't last as long as the others for me. However, this problem was easily resolved with a top coat.

Just a reminder, ladies, that Glitter Gal do ship overseas, which is oh so rare for an Aussie lacquer. So, if you've liked the colours I've shown this week, you will be able to get your hands on them.

Glitter Gal - Dark Purple

I think I'm onto another winner with Glitter Gal's Dark Purple.

Like Blue, which I reviewed yesterday, this is an amazing lacquer. It smooths on easily, leaving a shiny finish (which I find quite outstanding given how much glitter is packaged into this baby).

It's Seche Vite dry within five minutes and seems to last forever on the nail. I wore this manicure for a good three days (without top coat) before I saw the most minor wear on my index finger.

What I like most about this is that it's safe for work. Whereas I probably wouldn't wear blue in a conservative office environment, this is subtle enough to be wearable in the office.

In other news, I've been shopping. Again. I'm going to take some haul photos now for you and will put them up on the site later today.

Glitter Gal - Blue

I am so excited to be bringing the Glitter Gal lacquers to you.

For those of you who don't know what Glitter Gal is, they are an Australian cosmetics company, producing lip glosses, eye pencils and nail lacquers.Glitter Gal stock regular coloured lacquers, but it's their holographic lacquers that really caught my attention (hat tip to Nixxy for feeding my addiction).

Blue is... well, blue.

This is an amazing holographic. Normally, I find holos really difficult to photograph but these ones behave beautifully with the camera. They are like the Gisele Bundchen of the lacquer world. They can't take a bad photo.

What I like most about these is the application. These glide on beautifully and easily. Two coats is all that's needed for it to become opaque.

And it's glossy. Super glossy. The swatch here is sans top coat. Look out the reflection in those nails.

Ladies, I think I'm in love!

Sunday Sneak Peak

I'm so thrilled that Australian cosmetics have come far enough that, this week, I can have a whole week devoted to extraordinary Aussie lacquers.

The first half of this week will be about BYS' Glam Glitter. These are beautiful little lacquers that can transform and 'bling' any lacquer into something spectacular.

The second half of the week will be about Glitter Gal's holographic lacquers. I don't normally like holographic lacquers, however these have completely changed my mind about them. Glitter Gal's lacquers are extraordinarily good quality and good value. And they deliver internationally, yay!!!

I also have the much awaited butter LONDON Christmas Collection in my hands. I will post a haulage photo later today. Do you want to know something really sad, though? I went to bed last night with them sitting on my bedside table, so that, when I woke this morning, they would be one of the first things I saw.

Finally, I will be launching my November giveaway this Saturday so please stay tuned. It's going to be a busy week!
