Naily News #36

You've Got Face is now live!  Click here to have a nosy around and, don't forget that, starting Monday, you could win a gift from Illamasqua's Body Electrics Collection.

It's the 4th July today and, to celebrate, Susie has a lovely manicure.

If Ginger is the Queen of Purple, then Elizabeth is the Queen of Corals.

Well, well, well.... look who's back.  Nice to see one my favourite people back in the saddle.  And I don't mean that in a p0rno way.

One day, I'm going to go to Canada, kidnap Ginger, bring her back to Australia and get her to do Konadicures for me all day.  Yep, that'll work.

Megan has some fab Sally Hansen.  Is it just me or does anyone else never get sick of looking at Megan's amazing nails?

Yeah yeah yeah, I'm still in love with Diana.  But, man, this is amazing.

Lisa has a VHTF OPI. Superb.

RUBY RED SLIPPERS. Caps lock unintentional but it stays because this manicure is WORTHY OF CAPS. Ok, that time was really an accident.

If you have a nail related post to share, paste a link in the comments.

And read on to find out more about my week.

Coral Colours Swatch Watch - We have a winner!

Thanks to everyone who entered the Coral Colours Swatch Watch competition.  A great response proving, once again, that you guys: a) really like lacquers; b) really like free stuff; or c) a little bit of both.

Before we get to the fun stuff, the most popular colour was Blue Velvet.  Don't you love democracy!

Unfortunately, there can be only one winner and that lucky winner is....... Bethanie.

Congratulations Bethanie!  I have sent you an email to confirm your postal address and details.

For those of you who didn't win, never fear because another competition is just around the corner on my new site, You've Got Face.  Stay tuned to YGF on Monday to find how you can win something special from Illamasqua's  Body Electrics Collection.

Topshop - Fiesty + Parma Violet

When my lovely mother in law asked me if there were any lacquers that I desperately wanted to trial, I immediately screamed 'TOPSHOP'.  I screamed this so loudly that I am sure she heard me all the way in North Yorkshire, England.

As always, Kath did not disappoint in her selection.  From the cute little bottles to the brush to the formula, these are winning lacquers.  Click on the jump to see!

Barbara Daly - Wicked

After two days of romance inspired manicures, I decided that today needed to be a BAM POW BLAST shot to the veins.

Barbara Daly's Wicked is just that shot.

Often with darker lacquers, they look great in the bottle but either come out looking somewhat insipid and/or so dark that you can't really see the depth.

There is no such issue with Wicked.  It comes out exactly as it looks in the bottle - a beautiful, deep, velvety purple brown. The nail wreck you see above - entirely operator error.  I may or may not have been drinking when doing this manicure.

The formula is just perfection.  Glides on easily, opaque in two coats, high shine.  It doesn't get much better than this.

Boots No.7 - Dreamy

Continuing on the Jacie Love Train (or Love Boat if you're into nautical hijinks) theme, I have Boots No.7 - Dreamy.

Unfortunately, this swatch looks like my nails have freckles.  Which they do not.

This is a lovely champagne colour.  I was not convinced of it in the bottle but, on the nail, it's beautiful.  I have a formal occasion coming up where I'm wearing a little black dress.  I fully intend to wear this lacquer as my manicure.  It has an old world glamour that I love.
